Athletics
Welcome to the Athletics Section of the website!
At Grand River Academy, we believe that interscholastic sports are an integral part of the school community. Whether students are testing their physical skills and strategies or defining their values with respect to physical activity, teamwork, and competition, athletics offer GRA students another way to activate their potential.
This important aspect of our school community is supported by qualified and dedicated coaching personnel with more than 100 years of combined coaching experience. Grand River Academy is home to experts in educating young men. That same expertise continues outside the classroom to our coaching staff. Our coaches apply their knowledge inside and outside the classroom, bringing student-athletes to their maximum potential.
Our inclusive athletics program allows for all young men to participate, finding their way to contribute and experience success through a team atmosphere. We believe everyone has something positive to contribute to an athletic team, whether it be skill, knowledge, or effort. Our focus on skill development allows for experienced student-athletes and those brand new to the sport to share the field together and learn from each other. This helps develop positive teamwork and sportsmanship for all our teams. Additionally, athletics include responsibilities such as sportsmanship, ethical conduct, a sense of fair play, respect for rules and regulations, and habits of health and safety.
We compete in the Lake Effect Conference, an eleven team group that encourages both competitive play and positive sportsmanship. In that time, we have competed for championships regularly, winning four league championships in baseball and three second place league finishes in soccer over the last decade. Our program has helped student-athletes prepare to compete at the collegiate level.
The Athletics program at GRA presents a truly unique opportunity for all our students to expand their horizons and grow as young men! If you're interested in learning more about the athletics program at GRA, please contact our Admissions Office.
Go Eagles!
